Protesters planned for Patriot Guard Founder Funeral

Gregory Bowman, founder of the Patriot Guard Riders died last Sunday in a motorcycle accident. The Patriot Guard Riders were formed to protect soldiers funerals from religous protestors from disturbing the families and the ceremony of the fallen soldier. Their mission has been so sucessful, that the Patriot Guard now have chapters in all the states and they attend many more events than all of the protestors ever have. The Patriot Guard is a shining example of bikers being good citizens and showing their support of all serving in the United States military.

Unfortunely like the fallen soldiers, Bowman’s death has come to the attention of a Kansas church that attends military funerals and they have promised to protest his death.

In a statement, the Kansas church calls the Patriot Guard Riders a “God-hating … gang of aging, hellbound ruffians.” It warns members that “persecuting the church is dangerous,” and Bowman’s death was God’s “curse on PGR.”

While they may show up, the Patriot Guard Riders will be there to show the same respect and probally more to their founding father. They will be grieving the loss of a true friend to many and a fellow rider.

If there are any events that are sure to come to blows between the groups, this is it, to protest in front of the PGR while they are mourning the loss of one of their own and their founder.

Police will be on hand to make sure the PGR and the protestors do not tangle but it would sure be nice to see all the current and ex-military show up to express their respect for a person that has brought so much to their fallen friends.
