Town of Rogers, Arkansas gives incentive funding to bikers to come visit them
It is not often you hear that a convention center is willing to invest in bikers and so this is why it hits the news. In Rogers, Arkansas, the convention center is giving $7,500 to the local Star Touring chapter to help fund their event in July of 2008. Also the group recieved another $7,500 from the Bentonville Advertising and Promotion Commission.
The group is expected to attract 1, 600 Yamaha riders to town. Using the bureau’s $ 200-per-day multiplier, spending from attendees could generate a $ 1. 6 million economic impact, executive director Tom Galyon said.
This just goes to show that bikers really are great income sources for cities and businesses and their economic impact is not to be taken lightly. Bikers have money and are willing to spend as long as they are treated ok. With the carpet being rolled out like this, you are sure that the cities will help to make sure that all that attend have a good time and enjoy spending their money there.
