Bikers welcomed aboard the Battleship New Jersey

There are not many times a biker gets invited to a formal function and it is even more a rarity to be invited aboard a United States Battleship. But the New Jersey Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club has been invited to speak about African Americans in the United States Military.

“It’s a trip through history from slavery up until to the time the Buffalo Soldiers came on board in 1866 and through the 1890s,” explained Thomas “TC” Costley National President of the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers/Troopers Motorcycle Clubs.

It is nice to see that even bikers have a thing or two to teach everyone and that they are invited to share their knowledge of life and history. While the New Jersey Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club rides, they also pride themselves on their history and bringing awareness to the public.

Unfortunely for the New Jersey Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club bikers, they will have to park their motorcycles and walk up the gangplank because I do not think motorcycles are allowed on the battle ship.

Today there are 65 NABSTMC chapters in 33 states of the United States, including Hawaii, and 2 international Chapters in Nova Scotia and Ontario, Canada, that subscribe to the Constitution and By-laws of the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers Motorcycle Clubs (NABSTMC). While members love to ride and take pride in riding safely, they take equal pride in conveying a positive image, especially to youth, in their communities. BSTMC’s are actively committed to community service and educational programs to all, regardless of religion, gender, or race.
