DMC of the famed group â€œRun DMCâ€ will rock the house with free performance
MILWAUKEE (March 4, 2008) â€“ Engines will roar and a legendary cat will be strutting his stuff on the catwalk. Harley-Davidson Motor Company announces legendary hip hop icon, Darrel â€œDMCâ€ McDaniels of the famed group, Run DMC will be part of the “Bikers in the Park” celebration at Daisy Stocking Park, Daytona Beach on March 6 and 7.Â
Celebrating their fifth year supporting â€œBikers in the Parkâ€ during Daytona Bike Week, Harley-Davidson has added the special appearance and performance by DMC to what is already slated to be one of the most exciting events for families, Harley-Davidson enthusiasts and fans.Â DMC will be a guest judge of Harley-Davidsonâ€™s â€œHot Modelâ€ contest that will take place the evening of March 6 and will participate in the celebrity fashion show on March 7. Models will rock the latest and hottest fashions from Harley-Davidsonâ€™s MotorClothes motorcycle fashion line that evening.Â Harley-Davidson is particularly excited to bring event goers a free performance by DMC immediately following the fashion show on March 7. Autographs and a meet and greet with the fans will occur on both days.
Activities scheduled at the â€œHarley-Davidson Experienceâ€ include a fashion show, Womenâ€™s Riderâ€™s Edge Seminars, product displays and even a temporary tattoo parlor for kids.Â An added attraction is Harley-Davidsonâ€™s â€œHot Modelâ€ competition that is sure to rev up onlookers.
Harley-Davidsonâ€™s â€œHot Modelâ€ competition is a fun event where contestants first attend a casting call (March 4-6).Â Once participants are selected from the casting call, they will â€œcompete for a spotâ€ (March 6) in the Harley-Davidson Fashion show (March 7).Â Two models will be selected (one male and one female) to win a chance to compete in the big competition at Harley-Davidsonâ€™s 105th Anniversary celebration in August.Â Winners will be flown to Milwaukee where they will compete with other finalists from various events Harley-Davidson will participate in throughout the year such as National Bikers Roundup, West Coast Roundup, LAMA Domestic Rally, and Black Bike Week.Â Two winners will be selected in Milwaukee where they will win prizes and the opportunity to be featured in Harley-Davidsonâ€™s 2009 MotorClothes catalogue.
