Electric motorcycle company gets 10 million in investment capital

With a investment of 10 million dollars to build an electric motorcycle. Bikers in Oregon may soon have a very green way to ride around for less than $12,000.

While most people equate hybrid cars with being green, motorcycles can also be green too. With less weight and less drag, a motorcycle sized electric vehicle could be the future of many people commuting to work.

While the Enertia motorcycle made by Brammo is not much to look at, the simplicity of the bike is what makes it affordable and able to run up to 45 miles per charge.

With the investments in place, Brammo is now taking pre-orders of this new motorcycle starting at less than $15,000 and the company expects the price to be reduced to less than $12,000 by the end of the year.

As you can see from their chart, they are expecting owners to get some mileage for their money. While being cheaper than Toyota’s Prius, it of course sarcrifices being able to seat 4 comfortably to get the better electric engine range.
