Halifax County Public Schools goes biker
Many different public school systems have some sort of advanced technical training in car repair or other trade. Not too often do you see a public school offer training in motorcycle repair. The Halifax County Public School District has decided that going with motorcycle tech training is their future.
With the price of gas and the price of alot of motorcycles it is easy to see that alot of student’s first “cars” could end up being motorcycles. Many kids that are off to college or just need a way to get to their first jobs can be filled by a motorcycle.
But taking your motorcycle in for repair can be expensive unless you do the work yourself. So just like the courses offered for car drivers in the past, this course offers for bikers now. Even if the students never plan to make motorcycle repair their life, it will give them a wonderful skill that they will be able to use throughout their life. Most motorcycles are pretty basic and can still be worked on in your own garage unlike many modern cars. Most cars have elaborate computer systems that require expensive testing tools and access to special computers. Most motorcycles are still based off very simple computers or even none at all and can be troubleshooted without the aid of specialized equipment.
Hopefully the graduating students will find that working on motorcycles and owning them are something that is not only fun but can have a good career in.
