With the win, Capps moved into a first place tie with Force Hood in the Funny Car point standings.“I could hear her car over there,” said Capps, who powered his NAPA Dodge Charger to a 4.187 second run at 297.22 mph to hold off Force Hood’s Castrol GTX Ford Mustang, which finished in 4.231 at 296.96.

Venice Vintage held the Vintage Venice Motorcycle Rally today at epOxyGreen with proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Club of Venice. Lying on the western shore of Lake Batur, along the roller-coaster road from Kedisan to Songan, the resort village of Toya Bungkah features an invigorating hot springs, massive cinemascopic views, and a black-sand beach. Many travelers choose to stay in Toya Bungkah rather than Kedisan because the latter has too many Bali Aga while the former is more a mixture of Balinese and Javanese. Watch your gear in both places-lotsa thieves.Toya Bungkah gets busy only during July and August, otherwise there’s little traffic or motorboat noise.

Japan crossed with Mexico. Hack, mash, and lash everything together. Very hot and thick, humid and prone to short heavy rains. Bangkok is larger than expected, with a higher skyline. Slum-like in many ways but comfortable. Dirty, aged, grafitti’d, tagged, polluted, smelly, hungry, buggy, feral. Friendly, smiley, reverent, strong, spiritualized, watery, creative, delicious, surviving with tenacity. Temples & tenements, luxury hotels and megamalls. Insane traffic and transport.

After a spring of consistent rainstorms, the summer sun is finally here and Utah is seeing an increase in outdoor recreation. Utah is the home of many outdoor motorcycle and ATV recreation areas, from the Salt Flats to the red rocks of Moab. However, with the summer fun comes the risk of serious injury. Generally, I like the program, it seems to load faster than Media Player, and doesn’t bother me too much. In the afternoon, I did a search by typing in the address bar of Firefox. Normally, this type of search brings me to the Google results of the phrase, but this time it brought me to the Winamp results of the search term. Grrrr. Winamp hijacked my search bar.

Why I Like Classic Car & Cycle People! While watching the TV news, I was appalled at how many people can’t just get along, to quote Rodney King. It is truly a very sad situation. Then I thought about all the different types of people we have at our event and how well they all get along. In the 18 years we have been doing our events, we have never had any trouble with the participants at our shows. Bikers, Low Riders, Classic Cars, Hot Rodders, Sports Cars types and Tuner owners, they all attend our classic car & cycle show and all of them have a great time.

Before leaving The Love of Sports to setup Keyboard Kimura two months ago, I was on fire, clicking at nearly 75% with my picks.Now, I’m two wins above .500, barely breaking even and looking like I’m simply flipping a coin from fight to fight.

If you are anything like me, you are extremely hard on yourself. Raising a bar for yourself so high you often feel like you can’t possibly measure up. This certainly leads to the same unrealistic expectations of those around you, all around you—down to the guy standing in front of you in line at the grocery store and the guy that just cut you off in traffic.

I am so pumped for UFC 100. It has the big fight feel to the main event as well as the huge international show feel to it that a Wrestlemania can bring. I don’t think that I have ever been more excited for an MMA show. Being a life long wrestling fan, I loved it when the rumours circulated that Brock Lesnar was training for MMA. He was a monster heel in WWE and could wrestle really well. Wrestling fans knew that he was extremely athletically gifted and I thought that he could grind through the MMA ranks.

Restored Honda RC142 takes to the track for testingHonda first participated in the World Championship Racing (WGP) Isle of Man TT Race in 1959. The motorcycle it developed for that race was the RC142 works machine, fitted with an air-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valve, 2-cylinder 125cc engine.The RC142 made its WGP debut with a three-rider team of Honda associates. In the final, Naomi Taniguchi came in 6th, Giichi Suzuki placed 7th, and Junzo Suzuki finished 11th, with the team taking the Constructor’s Prize.

When you mixed electric pink with professional wrestling you ended up with the greatest technical wrestler in the history of the industry, Bret “The Hitman” Hart. Hart was born Bret Sergeant Hart on July 2, 1957 in Calgary, Alberta Canada. Hart is the eight child to wrestling promoter Stu Hart. Hart was exposed to professional wrestling at a very young age. As a child, he saw his father train wrestlers in the infamous “dungeon” which was the Hart’s household basement.

Whitefish Bay Kung Fu Club opened the festivities Chinese lions dancing. Pirate wenches wrestling. ( Arghhh !) Sweet corn, sweet potato pie, cotton candy, ice cream… Booming bands and beer. All this before a single Dragon Boat entered the water! What a fine start to Racine’s sixth Great Midwest Dragon Boat Festival, which kicked off with a parade and a party Friday night — a raucous, food-and-music-and-costumes affair enjoyed by hundreds at Samuel Myers Park at the Lakefront.

In what many are calling the biggest fight in UFC history, Frank Mir (12-3) and Brock Lesnar (3-1) face off in the headline event of UFC 100 on Saturday night in Las Vegas. Mir, who submitted Lesnar with a knee bar in their last fight in February 2008, says if he was Lesnar, he would bull rush at the first bell. “I would just come after me — take a chance, ’cause to sit there and play the cat-and-mouse game with me, and jab and slip and move around, I think that’s a slow death for him that he can’t possibly win,” said Mir, the interim UFC heavyweight champ but +175 WagerWeb.com underdog.

Rotorua Motorcycle Club are pleased to announce that Rowlinson Honda have agreed to sponsor the Kaingaroa Trail Ride Series for 2009. Rowlinson Honda have been proactive in the first of the 2 rides already completed and have benefited from having Honda bikes at the event for anyone to trial. Following the success of those events for both the club and Rowlinson Honda, it was only natural for a more formal arrangement to be made. Although the agreement is for one year only, both parties hope to establish a relationship that will continue beyond 2009.

Brock Lesnar and Nicole McClain for DYMATIZE The Ultimate Fighting Championship has carved out a historic corner for UFC 100. Despite the fact that more than 100 UFC shows have gone in the books, the symbolic century mark transforms this July event from usual summer sizzle show to organizational milestone. The Mandalay Bay Events Center plays host to the card Saturday in Las Vegas. Brock Lesnar, whom I had the pleasure of working, shooting, and chatting with (and his wife – a deer hunter herself no less) is a former professional wrestler and national collegiate wrestler.

Wish no more, because the Festival of Legends is coming to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca next fall. Unlike Goodwood, which focuses on the post-war period from 1948-1966, the Festival of Legends will concentrate on the golden age of American motorcycle racing — the 1970s.
